Riverbed Yoga is the Russian River community's only dedicated yoga studio.  Riverbed offers an intimate retreat-like setting for you to start or expand your yoga practice.  Our goal is to offer a safe and spacious experience, by offering a variety of class levels and styles, all taught by a talented roster of certified instructors.  

Spring 2014 Schedule

Sunday 

11am-12:15pm        Flow w/Xoch

Sweat, breathe and build strength and flexibility for your asana practice, work hard while moving through many up beat postures. Finish with a nice cool down rest and relaxation.

6:00-7pm Relax and Restore w/ Joan 

Our gentlest, most spacious class.  Gentle movements blend with longer holds using props to encourage release and renewal.  Appropriate for all levels, including beginners.

Monday

8:30-9:30am   Kripalu Yoga Mixed Level w/ Joan 

A balanced practice that combines dynamic movement with longer asana holds, and an emphasis on safety, alignment, breath and integration.  Modifications offered to best tailor practice to your body's needs.

5:30-6:45pm   Gentle/beginner w/ Brenda

A therapeutic practice that introduces core postures, breath techniques and self-care.  Each class ends with a 10-minute guided self massage.

Tuesday

9:30-10:45am Yoga Mixed Level w/Kathleen (Ana Maria subs 4/22)

Build your practice with a targeted posture sequence to increase flexibility, improve alignment and safely explore what your body is capable of.  Classes include affirmations during posture holds.

5:30-6:45pm Kundalini Yoga w/ Gangarani (Mariah subs 4/22)
Focus on the chakras and encourage the movement of energy with postures, chanting and breathing techniques.

Wednesday

8:30-9:30 am     Yoga Mixed Level    w/ Brenda 

An adaptable practice that explores basic and intermediate postures, breath techniques and self-care.  Each class ends with a 10-minute guided self massage. Practice can be modified for Beginners.

6:30-7:30pm        Mellow Flow w/ Xochi
Breathe, move, and flow into strength and flexibility while warming up and winding down for the night with mellow movement and relaxing music.

Thursday

9:30-10:30am         Yoga Mixed Level    w/ Kathleen (Ana Maria subs 4/24)

Build your practice with a targeted posture sequence to increase flexibility, improve alignment and safely explore what your body is capable of.  Classes include affirmations during posture holds.

6:00-7:30pm         Kripalu Yoga & Guided Relaxation w/ Joan

A balanced practice that combines dynamic movement with longer asana holds, and an emphasis on safety, alignment, breath and integration.  Class ends with a 30-minute yoga nidra guided relaxation (in savasana pose),  a potent antidote to stress and insomnia.


Friday

10:00-11:15am         Yoga and Sound w/Mariah

Deepen your yoga practice with toning, chanting, sound therapy (tuning forks, singing bowls, harmonium).  Emphasis is on dropping into experience, and balancing body, spirit and mind.

4:00-5:15pm         Ashtanga-inspired Flow w/ Cindy

Explore variations on the primary series, combined with explorations of backbends and inversions.  A strong practice for intermediate to advanced students.

Saturday

9:30-10:30am        Gentle/Beginner's Yoga w/ Joan 

Prepare for your weekend adventures by warming up major muscle groups, joints and spine.  Class also includes twists and breathing techniques to aid in detoxing the body from the excesses of Friday night! Appropriate for all levels, including beginners.

5-6pm                   Kundalini-Hatha Blend w/Gangarani

Focus on the chakras and encourage the movement of energy with postures, chanting and breathing techniques. Appropriate for all levels, can be modified for beginners.
